If you are having difficulty pairing a device to the NEXUS-NETWORK using the standard method you should attempt this option.
Using this method you can add devices by using batteries to power the NEXUS-BRIDGE and bringing the NEXUS-BRIDGE beside the device to sync it.
NOTE: This is the only function of the batteries in the bridge.
NOTE: Using this method can cause communication issues once the NEXUS-BRIDGE is returned to its operational location. If you are getting errors on devices when syncing is complete you will need to run a repair of the Nexus-Network. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to run a repair. Please note than running a repair can take a number of hours, depending on the number of devices in the network.
To add a device, click on DEVICES and ADD DEVICES
You will be promoted to select your device type.
Select Add ZWave devices, Click ADD
When prompted select OPTION 2
Disconnect the cables from NEXUS-BRIDGE
Insert the 4 AA batteries (supplied) in the NEXUS-BRIDGE's battery compartment. Hold down the battery button for a few seconds to start up NEXUS-BRIDGE on battery power. Wait up to 1 minute and when you see the ready orange light start blinking, you can start adding devices.
You must activate the device by clicking on the the device's sync button. While the NEXUS-BRIDGE is adding the device the “ready” light will go out, and when NEXUS-BRIDGE has finished adding a device, the “ready” light will flutter rapidly for 2 seconds to let you know. Once it starts blinking slowly again you can add the next device.
If you cannot get a device to add, follow the instructions to remove or reset the device, and then try again to add it.
Once you have finished adding device, hold down + button for several seconds to save your changes and turn NEXUS-BRIDGE off to save your battery power.
The NEXUS-BRIDGE will automatically power off after 1 minute if you don't pair any devices or press the + or - button.
Reconnect NEXUS-BRIDGE's cables as they were before and wait for the ready light to come on.
Return to the computer that you are using and click NEXT
The NEXUS-BRIDGE will now scan the new devices.
You can now name the devices and assign them to rooms
