RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. This process should only be carried out by a licensed and qualified electrician.
Multi-way switching can be utilized on any module input in the NERO range. Most commonly this is used to create 2-way switching, such as a light switch at each end of a hallway controlling a single Nero device.
Recommended switches
When installing a multi-way switched circuit Environexus recommends the use of momentary switches such as a Clipsal 30PBBP. Toggle and intermediary switches are not recommended.
Wiring
This article and diagrams focus on 2-way switching, however additional switches can be added by adding more switches wired in parallel as shown in the diagrams.
If wiring a circuit with additional active connections at multi-way switches ensure that all are on the same circuit in the home.
Installation
Do not perform this work without first disconnecting power to the device.
Multi-way switching can be achieved using tradition 2 wire strapper leads.
- Wire the primary switch as per standard installation instructions
- The second switch must be wired in parallel to the primary switch
- Connect the switch to the active and i1 (the primary switching terminal on the device) or i2 (on compatible devices only, e.g., NERO-2RELAY)
