Nero Blind

The Nero Blind controls cover motors up to 4A. The device can control curtains, roller blinds, Venetian blinds, and shutters. Precise positioning is possible for motors equipped with mechanical or electronic limit switches. Approximate control is available for other motor types using timer-based movement.

The module can be controlled either through a Z-Wave Controller or through a wall switch.

The module measures the power consumption of the attached load and supports the connection of a digital temperature sensor (available separately).

Nero Blind operates as a repeater in your mesh network, increasing reliability and range when combined with other Nero devices.

Installation

RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK! This device should only be installed by a qualified electrician and with appropriate precautions taken to ensure that power is not present during installation.

Even when the module is turned off, voltage may be present on its terminals. Any works on changes related to connection mode or load must always be performed with power disconnected.

• Before the installation, disconnect the power supply
• Connect the module according to the electrical diagram
• Locate the antenna as far as possible from metal elements
• Do not shorten the antenna
• Nero Blind requires an active and neutral for operation

Supported Switches

The module supports momentary switches (push button) ONLY. Toggle switches will not work correctly with the Nero Blind. Two momentary switches are required for open/stop/close functionality. Single switch control is not supported.

M1 and M2 terminals

Due to the wide variety of motorised covers on the market, the up and down terminal orientations vary between brands and models. When wiring a Nero Blind module up, we recommend testing the movement directions before securing the module behind the wall switch or near the motor. Is Up and Down from the Nero UI are reversed, simply swap the connections in M1 and M2.

Motor compatibility

Nero Blind is compatible with all standard 3 and 4-core motors with internal limit switches. One active wire opens the cover, the other closes the cover. Cutting the supply or running until one of the limit switches are activated stops the motor at that point. 3-core motors do not have an Earth connection whereas 4-core motors do. Typically the Nero Blind can control motors driving any size cover. 

Overcurrent Protection Fuse

Nero Blind must be installed with an over-current protection fuse not rated higher than 4A as illustrated in the wiring diagram.

Wiring Diagrams

Nero Blind can be powered with DC power for configuration and testing but is not compatible with DC blinds which require polarity reversal to change the motor direction.
