The Nero Blind must be calibrated once installed to set it's fully open and fully closed points. Calibrating the blinds allows us to set the % open level of the blinds or curtains. This can then be used in scenes.
There are 3 ways to calibrate a Nero Blind, please follow the below instructions depending on which mode you wish to implement.
Automatic Blind Calibration
Include the module into the mesh network, according to module include instructions. The Nero Blind can automatically detect the start and end position of the blinds based on blind motor limit switches
- To edit a configuration setting of the Nero Blind, select the arrow icon of the device.
- Scroll down and select the DEVICE OPTIONS tab, then click ADD CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
- Enter the parameter details listed below then click SAVE CHANGES. This will force the blind calibration.
Variable = 78
Data Size = 1 Byte Dec
Desired Value = 1 -
The NERO-BLIND will perform the calibration process, completing a full cycle - up, down and up again.
-
Once the calibration has completed, return to DEVICE OPTIONS and change the desired value of Variable 78 to 0
If you delete a configuration setting by clicking on the “X” button, that parameter is not changed to its default setting. It is simply removed from the display on the software.
Manual Calibration
NERO-BLIND can be manually configured for the start and end position of the blinds by using the manual switches.
- Include the module into the NEXUS-NETWORK, according to module inclusion instructions.
- Quick press the switch/push-button connected to I1 input and wait until the blinds reach upper limit switch.
- Quick press the switch/push-button connected to I2 input and wait until the blinds reach lower limit switch.
- Quick press the switch/push-button connected to I1 input and wait until the blinds reach upper limit switch.
Timing Calibration
The NERO-BLIND can be calibrated by setting the time taken for the motor to transition from an open to closed position. First use either the push buttons or NERO OS to measure how long it takes for this transition.
- To edit a configuration setting of the NERO-BLIND, select the arrow icon of the device.
- Scroll down and select the DEVICE OPTIONS tab, then click ADD CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
- Enter the parameter details listed below then click SAVE CHANGES
Variable = 74
Data Size = 2 Byte Dec
Desired Value = 0 -
Use the NERO software or wall switch to close the blinds/curtain fully
-
Now return to DEVICE OPTIONS and change the desired value of variable 74 to amount of time the blind/curtain to transition from open fully to closed fully. This value must be in seconds, and be between 1-3,276s.
NOTE: 1=0.1s, 32767=3726.7s
e.g. If the transition time is 12s, set the desired value to 120 - Click SAVE CHANGES
