If you are having difficulty getting access to your NEXUS-NERO Controller on the network you should attempt to reset the Network settings.
By default the NEXUS-NERO Controller automatically configures its network, if you connect it to your router it will automatically connect to the network. If after plugging into your network, you don't see your NEXUS-NERO on mynero.environexus.com.au, please follow these steps to fix your networking:
- Work out the IP address of the NEXUS-NERO
The IP address of the NEXUS-NERO Controller is generated using the last 4 characters of the MAC address. The letters are converted to numbers based on their order of the alphabet.
e.g. if the MAC address is D4:21:22:FC:BC:9D
The IP address will be: 192.168.23.94
This would mean that the PC should have an IP address in the same class as the unit, 192.168.23.100 (for example)
- Put a static IP on your computer
Follow the appropriate instructions based on your operating system:
WINDOWS 7
- Open Control Panel
- View by: Large icons -> Network and Sharing Center
- View by: Category -> View network status and tasks
- Click on CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS
- Right click on ETHERNET connection to NEXUS-BRIDGE , then click on Properties
- Highlight the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) item, and click on Properties
- In the IP address field enter an IP address in the same class as the unit g. 192.168.23.100
- In the subnet mask field enter 255.255.0
- In the Default gateway field enter the IP address of the unit g. 192.168.23.94
- Click OK
- Click OK Again
WINDOWS XP
- Open Windows Start menu.
- Open Control Panel.
- Classic view: Open Network Connections
- Category view: Select Network and Internet Connections, and then Network Connections.
- Double-click on your the Ethernet connection to the NEXUS BRIDGE.
- Click Properties.
- In the General tab, highlight the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item, and click Properties.
- In the IP address field enter an IP address in the same class as the unit g. 192.168.23.100
- In the subnet mask field enter 255.255.0
- In the Default gateway field enter the IP address of the unit g. 192.168.23.94
- Click OK
- Click OK again
MAC OSX
- Open the Apple Menu (Top left corner of your screen)
- Click System Preferences
- Click Network
- Click the Locations dropdown and select Edit Locations
- Click the plus sign and call your new location “Nero Troubleshooting"
- Select "Ethernet" from the list on the left
- Select "Manually" from the Configure IPv4 dropdown
- In the IP address field enter an IP address in the same class as the unit g. 192.168.23.100
- Enter 255.255.0 in the subnet mask field
- Enter the IP address of the unit g. 192.168.23.94 in the Router field
