As you expand the amount of automated devices in your home it is common to want to be able to trigger scenes from a switch on the wall rather than using the app or relying on a sensor. This can be especially valuable for scenes you have configured to set the room to a particular mood, such as when you are entertaining.
Device trigger
When using a device as your scene we recommend connecting a momentary (bell press) switch to it rather than a latching (toggle) switch. This ensures that the device is always in an expected state when the user interacts with it, triggering the scene correctly.
When creating a scene trigger we recommend using the NERO-DRY or NERO-RELAY as the in-wall device as these have the shortest reporting times and will activate the scene faster. The NERO-2RELAY can also be used to allow 2 scene buttons from one device but note there is a slightly longer delay for the reports on this module. We don't recommend using a NERO-DIM as the ramp times can cause delays to your scenes activating.
Creating the scene
When you create your scene you will select the device you installed as the trigger and use the "turns on" state as the trigger event. When you are specifying the actions, set the scene trigger device to turn off again.
