The conditions configured in your Reactor sensor determines when the trigger state is true or false. Conditions are incredibly flexible and can assess the state of a large number of inputs.
Check out our primer on Logic Gates and how they work in Reactor.
Add rules to your condition
Conditions can be combined together using the AND, OR, and XOR buttons. When you create a new sensor it will have an AND group with a comment entry created. You can then add additional items or groups to your sensor. The elements are:
- Add a new item to the group.
- Add a new group to the sensor.
- Save your changes. Remember to save anytime you change things on this page or they will be lost.
- Name the group. This is very helpful when you have a large number of groups or you want to refer to this group from another sensor.
When you add a device to a Reactor sensor you will notice that every aspect the gateway tracks for a device is presented. The most common items you will use are status (whether a device is on [1] or off [0]) and sensor values, such as temperature or energy use.
Check the current state of your conditions
The Status page of your Reactor sensor will show you the current value of each of your conditions and whether it is true or false, and whether the overall sensor is true or false. The images below show an example.
